The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of the Class 12th board exams on 12 May 2023. The overall pass percentage this year is 87.33%, which is a slight dip from the previous year's pass percentage of 88.78%. The pass percentage for boys is 85.13%, while for girls, it is 89.47%. The pass percentage for transgender students is 80.69%.
This year, a total of 13,49,891 students had registered for the Class 12th board exams, out of which 13,39,489 students appeared for the exams. Among them, 11,70,757 students passed the exams. The highest pass percentage was recorded in the Thiruvananthapuram region, followed by Bengaluru and Chennai.
Students can check their results on the official website of the CBSE, cbse.gov.in, or cbseresults.nic.in. Students can also access their results through the DigiLocker app. The results are also available via SMS.
The CBSE exams were conducted from 1 March to 19 April 2023 in offline mode amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The board had taken various measures to ensure the safety of the students, including providing masks and sanitizers, and maintaining social distancing.
The CBSE board exams are considered to be crucial for students as they determine their future academic and career prospects. The board has already started the preparation for the Class 10th board exams, which are expected to be held in 2024.
